I made this blog to show and learn other people, how to make IBM Thinkpad 760 better. This is old and a bit slow, but still fantastic laptop. I've bought it for 50 Polish Złoty (about 12€) so really cheap and good device;) I'll show how to solve my problems what I found using my IBM, but if you have other troubles with it, write me, I'll solve them. My English isn't really good, but I hope that everybody understand me :)
First, I want to present my IBM. IBM Thinkpad 760XD was the last device from 760 series. Specification:
Processor: Intel Pentium I MMX 166MHz
RAM memory: 89MB EDO RAM
HDD drive: 4GB
CD-ROM drive interchangeable with FDD drive
Windows 98SE on board :)
Full USB and WIFI support

I have a thinkpad 760XD and installed win XP. but it don't recognize PCMCIA.

This card is:
USB 2.0 PCMCIA Cardbus (32 bit card). It doesn't have any trademark, china product.
Network card is very popular TP-LINK TL-WN321G usb card. Native drivers have good program to connect with wifi for w98, but I can't connect to WPA networks (WEP only:/).
Btw. How fast it works with Windows XP?:D I haven't tried it, but I know I can have CD booting with program called smart boot manager:)

OdpowiedzUsuńprosím mám taky tento notebook, mám ho jak nový, potřebuji ho zprovoznit na internet, je tam nainstalovaný Windows 98, ale slyšel jsem nebo tu někde píšete že se tam dá nainstalovat i Windows XP- je to prosím pravda? Potřebuji ho připojit na internet a nemůžu nikde najít ten odkaz nefunguje na stažení té utility Lenevo http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/migr-59734.html
Kde ji mám prosím stáhnout? A jaký tam bude spolehlivě fungovat prohlížeč a jaký tam máte antivirus? Děkuji Vám Radovan
